THIS is what you're missing
... and the real reason your weight loss plans aren't sticking
If nothing you try seems to stick, this is for you.
When it comes to weight loss, it’s easy to start strong. You make a plan. Motivation is high. You’re thinking, “*This* time it will work!”
And you do great for a few days. Maybe even a week.
The things you’re doing are great… maybe you’re walking more, eating less sugar/processed foods, or scrolling less before bed. All good things!
But then life gets busy
“May-cember” hits and there’s so much to keep track of for the end of the school year…. Field trips, parties, and theme days on top of the regular life chaos that comes with having kids in school, sports, etc.
I was just talking to a friend the other day about this, and we agreed that having a personal assistant to keep track of everything in May is exactly what we need 😜 (but for real!). The mental load this time of year is out of control.
Back to survival mode
Before you even realize what’s happening, that shiny weigh loss plan is out the window and you’re back in survival mode grabbing Tim Hortons for breakfast on the way home from school drop off.
Everything feels urgent and important. The number of emails you get before noon each day (all with important things in them, so you better read them all!) is staggering. It’s just all too much. So your personal goals get put on the backburner. Again.
It’s frustrating. And it always seems to keep happening because “I’ll try again when life gets less busy” isn’t a game plan (and spoiler alert, life will never get less busy!).
The result? Nothing sticks.
Right now, you’re trying to hold everything together on your own, and that’s why it’s so hard. You don’t have structure that fits around the chaos, support for when things get hard or unexpected things crop up, or someone to help you adjust instead of starting over. So of course it doesn’t stick.
Trust me, this is not a “you” problem. It’s not just because you’re inconsistent… it’s because you’ve been relying on willpower when the reality of your busy life that requires more than that.
That’s the difference coaching makes.
It gives you something to actually hold onto when life gets messy, and someone whose whole job is to help you through those times and help set you up for success long term. And that’s what finally makes things stick.
I’m not going to tell you to wait until “things slow down,” or to “fill your own cup first.” Because as moms, we know that’s just not possible.
A little Biblical reminder
It reminds me of the story of the widow of Zarephath (1 Kings 17:8-16). Elijah visited her and asked her for bread. She explained how she only had a little bit of oil and meal left and that amount would hardly feed her and her son.
Elijah told her to bake the bread anyway, telling her that God said,
“The jar of meal shall not be spent, and the pitcher of oil shall not fail, until the day the Lord sends rain upon the earth.” (1 Kings 17:14)
And she continued to pour from that empty oil jug, and God provided for her. He does the same for us, that’s how we “do it all” even when it feels impossible.
You don’t have to do this alone
You don’t have to white-knuckle through everything on your own or wait for a better time. I’m here to help. I help the women I work with create structure even when everything around them feels like chaos. I teach them how to fuel their bodies properly, so they have the energy and strength to make it through these hard times without just surviving on coffee and sandwich crusts.
